Tagging and Categorizing dreams #Dreamstock

I started categorizing/tagging dreams, and found out what kind of dreams/elements/people etc I have in my dreams.

I have been keeping dream diary for a while and most of them were written in Japanese. Now some of them are translated into English, and I started writing in English as well. Then I moved all of my dream diary to #Dreamstock, which I started to collect human’s dreams. It’s group blog, anybody can join it.

To remember your dreams, it’s all about training. Here is the tips : Dream hacking, how to remember your dreams.

I knew I have many lucid dreams, nested structures and sexual dreams. However, since I started tagging, I noticed that most of my dreams are very silent and often I’m in the water. Colors I see often are blue, purple and sometimes vivid orange.

Thank you for sharing your tags, it’s an interesting list. Some of yours are things I don’t necessarily notice or think about, like whether things are in color (most things seem to be full color). And point of view: I could probably tag that, but it’s hazy because it switches around a lot.

I too document and tag my dreams. My policy on tags has been to (generally) only add tags when I notice something happening more than once… so sometimes the moment that I notice something is repeated I go back and add the tag. You can see my tag cloud here:

Because my journal has more than just dreams in it (also essays, open letters) I tag dream entries with “dream”. Generally I only document dreams which have a lucid component—where I am able to somehow test or query the environment. Still over the years that I’ve kept a journal, this has totaled to hundreds. :)

Another thing I decided to do was to tag each dream as either positive, negative, or neutral. It’s kind of a strange thing but what I’ve found is that if I am going through and trying to find a dream… remembering how I felt about it is pretty easy, so that can narrow the search. (Google doesn’t index my journal very well.)
