We are now starting hackerspace in Bangkok, where hackers can come over anytime and play on their projects.

Join the kickoff night

Hackerspace Kickoff Founding Event

We are having kickoff night on Tuesday 29th of December, 2009, at our hackerspace, which is part of proteus-technologies’ office building.

You can just come over and join the kickoff event to know more about hackerspaces and meet many hackers. There are no charge, of course. To join the kickoff event, please confirm on facebook event page :)

I say “WE” but this includes every single person involved in our hacker space. This is totally community-based, user-generated space, you are a part of it.

Membership Pledges for the new Hackerspace

If you want to be a member of our hackerSpace, please confirm on facebook event page here.

The member fee is 500THB per month, we need 20 people which means 10,000THB to start, which covers our first initial cost such as electricity, internet etc. Members have full access to the equipments (we don’t have much yet), also get right to decide many things about the hackerspace, even the name of it (we still don’t have it yet).

Name our hackerspace and logo

Bangkok Hackerspace LOGO contest

We don’t have any name for our hacker space yet. Just show your ideas, please :) For the logo, I want to have something very geeky and techie, only techies/hackers/geeks can notice the meaning, for other people it doesn’t mean anything….

Do anything what you want

I really love what @proteusguy said at the first meetup on last sunday. There are no “SHOULD”, just say “I WANT” or “I WILL”.

So… just do it :)

  • Why Ning Is Going To Bangkok Tonight In Her Red Shirt - Thailand Forum

She says “life in this country has dealt me a red shirt” – finally we have a movement I can identify with – this has nothing to do with Thaksin – he has only opened our eyes – and for that some of us are grateful to him. We know he is as corrupt as they all are but at least he threw us a few pieces of the cake – the other people in power take it all.
